Year 10 artists show they are a cut above in textiles
Well done to our Year 10 Textile Artists who have been exploring silk painting techniques recently.
The talented pupils have put together a dazzling array of pieces in the style of artist, Yellena James.
James is an artist/illustrator currently living in Portland, Oregon. Preferring pens, inks, and acrylics, she combines complex abstract forms into dazzling images that take on lives of their own.
Her colourful arrangements of organic shapes and tangled lines are at once floral and alien, organic, and sci-fi.
Her impressive work has certainly had a major influence on our pupils as their work here shows. The pieces Year 10 have produced have also impressed:
“Our Year 10s have made great progress here with their pieces inspired by Yellena James. Excellent work everyone.” Art teacher, Mrs Brennan
